Swan August Samelson (Samuelson)


Mr. Swan August Samuelson (Samelson), for many years an honored and respected citizen of Paxton, passed away on Friday afternoon at 1:15 at his home at 213 E. Ottawa. Seven years ago the deceased suffered a stroke of paralysis and since that time his health has been poorly. He has been bedfast since a year ago last August and during this time he has been tenderly cared for by his daughter, Miss Clara, and his other children. Mrs. Samuelson passed away 26 years ago and the children who remain to mourn the death of their father are John of Wyoming, Charles of Aberdeen, S.D., Mrs. Melvin Marshall of Roanoke, Illinois, Mrs. John Hanson of Eldred Minnesota, Luther of Rantoul, and Miss Clara of Paxton. Mr. Samuelson was a member of the Lutheran church and he was a fine gentleman, honored and respected by all who knew him. Funeral services took place on Monday afternoon at 1:00 and at the church at 2:00.
