OLAF PETER BARTELSON DIES AT AGE OF 90

Olaf Peter Bartelson, aged 90 years 5 month 5 days, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. L. Anderson and family west of Ludlow on Thursday night at 9:30.
The deceased was born June 17, 1838 at Doderhult, province of Smoland Sweden. In 1864 he was married to Miss Carolina Christine Nelson. They came to America in November 1868 landing in Quebec. From there they came to Chicago and thence to Paxton where they have made their home ever since. Mrs. Bartelson passed away on January 23, 1897. Mr. and Mrs. Bartelson were parents of 8 children, 4 of whom preceded them in death. Those who survive are daughters Mrs. C. L. Anderson of near Ludlow and Mrs. Helma Olson of Estherville Iowa, and sons Emil Bartelson of near Elliott and Eph Bartelson of Paxton. He also leaves 17 grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Bartelson were members of the Farmersville Lutheran church for many years.
Following disbandment of the congregation, the family became affiliated with the First Lutheran church of Paxton. Mr. Bartelson was a splendid Christian gentleman who was honored by his large circle of warm friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:15 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Anderson west of Ludlow and at the First Lutheran church of Paxton at 2:15, Rev. Oscar Purn officiating.
