Ludwig Carlson

Elliott - Frank Carlson, a son of C. F. Carlson, was drowned last Tuesday while in bathing. We have not received any particulars but at the last report the body has not been recovered.

--Gibson Courier.  1 June 1888.

The young man drowned in the Vermillion River on Decoration Day was Ludwig Carlson and not Frank, as we reported last week. The body was not found until Friday afternoon and had floated about 1/2 mile from the place he was drowned. The remains were interred in the Swedish cemetery on Saturday. The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community. Ludwig was in his 18th year and was liked by all who knew him.
