Andrew Johnson

The funeral of Andrew Johnson was held at his home which had been with C. L. Anderson at Farmersville. Rev. Waltz of Ludlow conducted the services and his service was beautiful and very appropriate. The funeral service was very largely attended and the floral offerings were very pretty and many in number.
Mr. Johnson was everybody's friend and everybody who knew him always thought well of him. For the past 8 months he has been confined to the house by rheumatism and Bright's disease, and was a patient sufferer.
Andrew Johnson was born December 21, 1834, at Istorp Sweden and came to America in 1872. Three years later he came to this vicinity and made his home with Mr. and Mrs. August Anderson. With them he remained 23 years and the rest of his life he lived with C.L. Anderson which has been 12 years. The deceased has no relatives but only neighbors and friends to mourn the loss. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in Sweden. He was a great reader and student of the Bible and always did his best to follow its teaching. He was 75 years 3 months 7 days of age. He did not have an enemy on earth that anyone knows of and his life was one of usefulness and kindness. He dearly loved children and they in turn loved him. He will be greatly missed from the circles which he has just passed out of.
