Andrew Gustaf Pearson

Andrew Gustaf Pearson was born May 24,1840, in Dimbo in the province of Vaster Gotland, Sweden. At the age of 30 years, he emigrated to America and made his home with his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Skog, who at that time lived in Greenview, Ill. The following year or in 1871, the family moved to Farmersville community and Mr. Pearson came along and has had his home with the Skog family until his passing. The last few years he has been under the tender care of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dahl, who have provided all the physical comforts desirable for their aged uncle.
Mr. Pearson had never married but remained single all his life. But he was devoted to the home, which his sister and brother-in-law provided for him as one of the family. For many years he was an active member of the Lutheran Church in Farmersville, and when the merger of this church with the Lutheran church in Paxton took place in 1921, he became a member of our church in town. He was a man of good habits and sincere in this Christian life. During the last few years his hearing was impaired to the extent that it was well nigh impossible for him to hear the loudest conversation. He had enjoyed good health almost to his very last days, and death came as a result of sickness incident to old age. About a week before his death he communed at the Lord's table and a sense of deep satisfaction seemed to rest over his soul and spirit after we had administered this sacred means of grace. He expressed his longing to leave this world and to be with the Lord, which was granted to him at midnight, or early Wednesday morning, January 18. He was at the time of his death 87 years, 7 months and 25 days old.
He leaves to mourn his passing his sister, Mrs. Clara Skog, a great number of nephews and nieces and many other relatives and friends.
