Rites at Farmersville Cemetery for George Godey
George W. Godey of Chicago passed away Saturday at his home, 1645 West 51st, Chicago, Illinois, following an extended illness of heart trouble and arthritis. Funeral services will be held this evening at 5:00 in Chicago. The remains will be brought to Paxton by Charles Brown, local funeral director, on Tuesday morning for graveside rites and entombment. Brief services will be held at the family plot in Farmersville Cemetery southwest of this city, Rev. Oscar Purn, pastor of the First Lutheran Church, will be in charge of the services.
The deceased, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Godey, was 65 years old, and was born in Chicago, where he spent his entire life. He was employed by Bell Telephone in that city until his health failed. He is survived by a son, John, of Chicago, and 2 cousins, Mrs. E.F. Johnson of this city, and Mr. C. L. Anderson of Ludlow.
Mr. C. L. Anderson and daughters Miss Dorothy of Ludlow, and Mrs. Harold Norton of Champaign, went to Chicago today to attend the funeral services.
