Anna Godey

Mrs. Anna Godey, a former resident of Paxton, passed away on Saturday morning at the home of a son, G. W. Godey, 3436 Rhodes Avenue, Chicago, where she had been slowly sinking for the past several weeks. About a month ago, she left St. Luke's hospital where she had been receiving treatment. Death was due to the infirmities of old age.
Mrs. Godey resided in Chicago for most of her life. Several years ago she came to Paxton and erected a fine home on West Orleans Street where she spent 2 years. After the death of her daughter, Mrs. Laura French, Mrs. Godey returned to Chicago. This was in the summer of 1919.
Left to mourn her loss besides the son is one brother, Mr. J. B. Anderson, of Farmersville. Mrs. E. F. Johnson of this city is a niece of the deceased.
Mrs. Godey was a good woman loved by all who knew her. She had many warm friends in Paxton and her death has brought deepest sorrow into every home where she was known.
The body arrived here this morning and was taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Johnson, corner of Orleans and Vermillion streets, where funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:00. Interment will occur at Farmersville cemetery.
