Jonas Skog



Jonas Skog, an old and respected citizen of Farmersville, a brother of the late John Skog, with whose family he has made his home since his arrival in this country, died Saturday afternoon, November 20th, at the advanced age of 88 years and 15 days.
Jonas Skog was born in Hogstena parich, Skaraborgs County, In the province of Vastergotland, Sweden, November 5, 1827. He emigrated to the United States in May 1876, and since that time has resided in Farmersville. He leaves to mourn his departure, his sister-in-law, Mrs. Clara Skog, at whose home he died, and twelve nephews and nieces, four of whom reside west of Paxton, two in Iowa, one in Indiana and five in Sweden. He was a man held in high respect by all who knew him and was a consistent Christian, always ready to lend a helping hand.
The funeral services were held at his late home at 12 o'clock and at the Lutheran Church in Farmersville at 1 o'clock, Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 23. Burial took place at the Farmersville Cemetery. Rev. Westerberg preached the funeral sermon.
